Xavier Richardson, formerly an Academic Advisor at the University of Florida's Innovation Academy.  He will draw tools from Alex Osterwald and Yves Pigneurs research on Business Model Canvas.  In order to be successful as entrepreneurs, we must first recognize that the world around us is changing, fast.  We must pivot, or get left behind.  It's also important for us as entrepreneurs to assess and reinvent self for business success.   Xavier learned at an early age that if an opportunity doesn't knock, I have the power to build a door. His five-year professional career spans Finance and Insurance, Human Resource Management and Higher Education industries, which has led him on a rewarding path - helping college students, organizations, and businesses identify and implement tools that yield high-performance growth, recruit top talent and achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Join the African American Entrepreneurs Club as we celebrate another Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening with James and Beth Smith! This is the second of many Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies for the AAEC as we honor and support the entrepreneurs in the club and community. We are excited to recognize all active AAEC members with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for new businesses and Grand Openings! The African American Entrepreneurs Club is honored to welcome Dr. Deborah Freckleton as our speaker for July's workshop. She will explain how African American businesses succeeded during segregation, why African Americans had their own businesses, and how, in spite of all the adversities African Americans faced, were still able to build thriving businesses!  You do not want to miss this workshop because there are so many lessons to be learned from this period in American history.  Dr. Freckleton will show us how we can employ some of these same strategies to build a successful business today as well as engage other approaches to ensure successful African American businesses.

Marcus Garvey stated it best, "A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots."
